Are you interested in being a citizen member of a City of Mississauga committee or board?


There are one (1) vacant positions for the following Tourism Sectors on Tourism Mississauga:

  • Accommodation/Hotel - (1 representative)

The City of Mississauga has formed a new, not-for-profit corporation for the purpose of promoting Mississauga as a tourist destination. Tourism Mississauga, funded by the Municipal Accommodation Tax, will be responsible for pursuing events, conferences and attractions, marketing and promoting Mississauga, providing visitor services and administering funding programs. Tourism Mississauga is now accepting applications for one (1) individuals to sit on the Board of Directors of the corporation. Along with three (3) members of City Council and 12 Directors appointed for terms of three years (some exceptions apply) that represent various tourism sectors from across Mississauga. Applicants should be employed or have experience in tourism or a related sector. There is no compensation for the Director positions. For more information on tourism in Mississauga, click here.

Not employed by the City of Mississauga or the Region of Peel, and must represent a relevant tourism sector in the City, which includes:

Applications will be accepted beginning Thursday, September 3, 2020 until Wednesday, September 30, 2020 for the one (1) vacant spots. Only those considered for an interview will be contacted. The City of Mississauga is currently seeking five (5) citizens from the Port Credit Heritage Conservation District to sit on its Port Credit Heritage Conservation District (PCHCD) Subcommittee for a term of office until November 14, 2022:

The PCHCD Subcommittee is a subcommittee of the Heritage Advisory Committee (HAC) that provides comment on heritage permit applications based on the objectives, policies and guidelines set out in the Heritage Conservation District (HCD) Plan to the HAC. Application and Deadline

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen;
  • Must be a resident or business owner within the PCHCD (to determine eligible for this qualification, please click here for the PCHCD map)
  • Must be a minimum 18 years of age; and
  • Must not be employed by the City of Mississauga or Region of Peel.
